la campagne de cilicie: naissance de la turquie moderne cilicia campaign : birth of modern turkey bienvenue ! welcome ! actualités / news les archives de la défense concernant la présence française au levant sont maintenant en ligne. bibliographie et liens plan du site ce site est référencé dans annuaire histoire de france notre site est list dans la catgorie sciences humaines et sociales : histoire de l'annuaire annuaire rfrencement annuaire histoire la campagne de cilicie est une des pages sombres de lhistoire de larmée française et de l'histoire des relations franco-turques. ce site évoque quelques aspects de cette douloureuse naissance de la turquie moderne dans le contexte de l'époque, pour une meilleure compréhension entre les peuples turcs, français et arménien. le devoir de mémoire ne doit pas s'arrêter aux massacres et aux génocides. il doit aussi s'appliquer à éclairer ces périodes douloureuses et à garder le souvenir de ce qui, bien que paraissant anodin, les a rendues possibles. c'est pourquoi je souhaite dcrire le contexte de l'poque . a partir de documents trouvs dans la famille, on peut mieux comprendre comment nos grand-pres taient duqus l'cole avant 1914 , ou au catchisme , quelles idologies traversaient leur sicle, ou comment la colonisation tait vcue dans nos campagnes. les documents familiaux ne suffisent pas dcrire la campagne de cilicie. d'autres descendants de soldats m'ont confi des photos d'poque ou des anecdotes. j'ai aussi trouv beaucoup de documents au service historique de la dfense, dans les archives de l'administration franaise de cilicie . j'ai voulu savoir comment le ministère de la guerre avait défendu les prisonniers français, de métropole ou des colonies, dans les négociations... enfin, j'ai trouv dans les livres cits dans la bibliographie l'histoire des relations politiques et conomiques entre la france et la turquie : franois 1 er et les capitulations , les liens entre le commerce et la politique . la curieuse faon dont louis xv agissait sur la question d'orient peut-elle être qualifiée de crime politique? un voyage en turquie , en aot 2006, m'a permis de mieux comprendre les vnements vcus par nos soldats. seuls les historiens peuvent estimer la part de responsabilité de la turquie, des ottomans ou des jeunes turcs, dans l'émergence du contexte qui a favorisé les massacres de 1920. et comment juger l'action de mustapha kemal?.. de grands historiens ont essayé de comprendre comment l'europe et bien d'autres pays avaient des responsabilités sur ce qui se passait en turquie à cette époque. aujourd'hui, la mémoire de ces causes pourra-t-elle devenir le fondement de la construction d'une paix solide? bienvenue ! cilicia campaign is of bad memory for french army and for the history of franco-turkish relationship. this site evokes some aspects of this painful birth of modern turkey, in the context of the period, for a better comprehension between turk, french and armenian people. the duty of memory should not apply only to the massacres and genocides. it must also apply to illuminate these painful periods and keep the memory of which, though trivial, has made them possible. that is why i want to describe the context of the time . from documents found in the family, we can better understand how our grandparents were educated at school before 1914 , or how was catechism , what were the ideologies through the century, or how the colonization was perceived in our countryside. the family papers are not sufficient to describe the cilicia campaign. other descendants of the soldiers gave me photographs or told me anecdotes. i also found many documents in the service historique de la dfense, in the archives of the french administration of cilicia . a trip in turkey , on august 2006, gave me opportunities to better understand what our soldiers had lived. finally, i found in the books cited in the bibliography , the history of political and economic relations between france and turkey: franois 1er and capitulations, the links between trade and politics, the curious way in which louis xv was acting on the "question d'orient". only historians can estimate the share of the responsibility of turkey, the ottomans or young turks, in the emergence of context that has fostered these massacres. and how to judge the work of mustafa kemal ... great historians have tried to understand how europe and many other countries had responsibilities on what was happening in turkey at this time. today, the memory of these causes will it become the foundation for building a stable peace? welcome ! warning! translation in english is done by myself, and my english is not well fluent!! creation date / date de création: 6 avril 2007 dernière modification / last update: november 9th, 2011 copyright nicole rouffiac - 2005 - tous droits réservés
